For over 10 years, the HSYC has operated in space not properly designed or equipped for housing animals. As of September 10, 2011, we have relocated to a building equipped with everything needed to care for these animals! The new building features:
• A proper air handling/ventilation system
• Dog runs designed for ease of cleaning
• Sprinklers
• A laundry room
• A proper cattery
• A dog exercise area
• Dedicated adoption rooms
• Separate isolation and quarantine rooms for dogs and cats
The costs to up fit our new location were over $200,000. Unfortunately, there was no government or public funding available to help with this ambitious project. Thanks to your help we were able to raise over $130,000 toward these expenses. Now we are relying on your continued support to help us pay the loans we owe for the building up fit.
A group of dedicated volunteers has been working on a comprehensive fund raising effort for the new facility. They continue to seek community support through donations, grants, corporate charity programs, fund raisers, special events, t-shirt sales, yard sales - anything that will raise the monies needed to cover our new shelter.
